1. What is Kakao Bike?
This is an electric bicycle sharing service provided by Kakao. Unlike Ttareungyi, which was a bicycle sharing service, it is characterized by an electric bicycle that operates with electricity. However, it is not a complete electric bicycle method, but a PAS method. This PAS method means that the motor operates only when the pedal is stepped on. When the pedal is not stepped on, it does not move at all on its own, and the maximum speed is limited to 25 km / h, so anyone can use it without a license.

After launching the Kakao T app, launch the bike menu to see the location of available Kakao bikes on the map. If you select the bike you want, you can see the battery status and driving time as shown in the attached picture.

3. Kakao Bike service area (changes from time to time)
Kakao Bike is not yet available in all regions of the country. However, as the service is activated, the available area is likely to change every time, so you can check the exact location by comparing your current location and GPS using the Kakao T app.

4. Kakao Bike usage fee
1,500 won for 15 minutes after initial rental
100 won per additional minute thereafter
When using for 1 hour = 1,500 won (15 minutes after initial rental) + 4,500 won (100 won per minute for 45 minutes) = 6,000 won per hour.

Areas subject to change in rate plan from June 14, 2021
The basic rate for Seoul Songpa / Ulsan / Incheon (Seo-gu) / Jeonju area is changed to 200 won and 150 won per minute will be charged. In other words, 150 won per hour X 60 minutes = 9,000 won + 200 won base rate, so 9,200 won per hour is charged in the area.

5. How to return
On the Kakao T app, stop anywhere other than the return area (outside the black range) and lock it with a smart lock (manual lock) to complete the return. (Except under bridges, basements, inside buildings, and places that obstruct people’s passage.) The best thing is to park it at the front door of an apartment complex.
