The eco-friendly boiler replacement subsidy is a form of subsidy provided by the government to reduce and manage air pollution in accordance with the enforcement of the ‘Special Act on Air Quality Improvement in Air Quality Control Areas’. If you live in a certain amount of population, you can think of it as an air management area. Subsidies are available only for products that have received ‘certified household boilers’. The types of boiler certification are divided into type 1 and type 2. Class 1 boilers are simply condensing boilers. In other words, it is also called a low NOx boiler. Boilers eligible for subsidy support are Class 1 boilers (condensing boilers). If so, won’t type 2 boilers (general boilers) receive subsidies? Not so. Some households cannot install an eco-friendly boiler (class 1 boiler) due to their structure. If so, you need to install a type 2 boiler. After installation, receive an installation confirmation from the installer (seller, constructor) and submit it when applying for a subsidy.

How much is the subsidy? The subsidy for an average family is 100,000 won. 600,000 won for the low-income class (recipients, next-highest class). If you are a jeonse or monthly rent tenant, you must obtain the consent of the landlord. In the case of a newly built house, support is available to the first owner on the registered register, and the installation date is the registration date or the expected move-in date. As each local government has a different project budget, the amount of subsidy support varies from region to region. It is judged that it is possible enough even if it is not promoted yet.

How to apply for eco-friendly boiler replacement subsidy
The application for government subsidy can be applied both online and offline. We will explain how to apply online as it is much more convenient. Even if you have already installed a boiler, it does not mean that you cannot apply for a subsidy. Application can be made before or after boiler replacement. However, after replacement, it is necessary to check whether the boiler is an eco-friendly boiler certified product. A list of certified products is provided below.

 

I will explain by dividing it into pre-application and post-application. If you have signed a contract for boiler products, you may inquire with the seller. Sellers can apply in advance and submit materials to receive subsidies. If you proceed like that, you can purchase the amount of support at a discounted price without applying separately. If the seller is a senior citizen, they may not know about government subsidies. Just in case, you should know how to apply online. The following is a part that can make the process easier if you prepare in advance before applying for a grant.

Log in after registering as a member
Installation Classification: Divided into two. If it is an eco-friendly condensing boiler (class 1 boiler), select ‘subsidy application (environmental mark)’, and if it is a general boiler (class 2 boiler), select ‘registration of installation confirmation (class 2)’. Here, we will proceed with ‘subsidy application (environmental label)’.
Click Apply for Grant
Installation main screen: Choose whether to post-install or pre-install. We will proceed with post-installation here.
Enter applicant information, select the reporting local government, and search boiler manufacturer and model name. If you have completed the installation location, click ‘Next Step’
Evidence photo: Since it is a post-application, it will be installed. A photo of the completed boiler installation (the product is well installed in the boiler room), a photo of the construction sign (if a boiler is installed, a yellow construction sign label must be attached to the boiler), and additional photos are uploaded if there are photos requested by local governments. You can do this.
Status of existing boilers: In some cases, local governments preferentially support old boilers. If you apply for preferential support for old boilers, you can upload a photo. When uploading, you can upload a photo that allows you to check information such as manufacturer, product name, manufacturing date, and installation date.
Grant Payment Request: Completing the payment request is similar to entering basic information. Please fill out the bank you wish to deposit carefully.
Evidence: You can upload the documents prepared in advance.
When all data is entered, click ‘Apply (Submit)’ to submit the final application.
Progress: Once all documents have been submitted, the local government will begin reviewing the progress. If the progress status is ‘submitted’, it is not yet accepted by the local government. If ‘receipt confirmation’ has been made, the reception has been completed without any problems. If it says ‘Supplementation request’, click ‘Re-application’ after being informed of the content to be supplemented to register and submit additional data.
The application procedure for installing a type 2 boiler is almost the same as that of a condensing boiler. However, when writing, there are parts that the general public does not know. If the condensing boiler cannot be installed when receiving a product quotation, the seller will explain the reason. These are the parts you need to fill out when applying for a grant. Before installation, if you ask the seller to fill out, it will be solved simply because he is an expert. After installation, even if it is annoying, visit the dealer for help. If you can write it yourself, you can do it yourself.

Installation Basics: For basic installation information, enter the information of the applicant. Reporting Municipality: Select your local municipality. After searching the boiler manufacturer and model name, click ‘Next Step’
Installation details: This is the part that the average person has difficulty with. The installer is the seller’s information input. It is most certain to ask the seller who installs the ‘reason for installing a type 2 boiler’.
Site photo: Most of the reasons why condensing boilers (class 1 boilers) cannot be installed are exhaust and drain problems. So, you have to submit photo evidence for these. You can upload a picture of the part where the exhaust will be installed and a picture of the floor to connect the drain.
On-site information: It may be difficult to fill out by yourself, so ask the seller or request to fill out.
Evidence: Download the ‘Type 2 Boiler Installation Confirmation’, fill it out and submit it, and upload the receipt or contract.
When all data is entered, click ‘Apply (Submit)’ to submit the final application.
Progress: Same as the eco-friendly boiler progress above.
Tips to know when applying for government subsidy for eco-friendly boiler replacement
Leave information with photos before disposing of the existing boiler.
The application process differs depending on the classification of the boiler installed in your home.
When applying for a type 2 boiler (general boiler), there are areas that require expert opinions. Before installation, it is easy to apply if you prepare for the subsidy application in advance and fill it out when the expert visits.
Class 2 boilers must not be installed in the area where the class 1 boiler is installed. Opposite is fine.
If the seller is familiar with the government subsidy when signing a boiler contract, you can ask the seller to apply.
